RE:  Recommendation for Howie Bergson of Israel Footsteps

We gratefully found Howie Bergson offers a comprehensive, revealing, and inspiring insider’s view of Israel for children and adults alike.  As a tour guide, Howie is tremendous!  His added stories from Israeli Army’s elite bomb squad experience bring a unique dimension. More than that, he has a lively natural curiosity and love for Israel that created an extraordinary tour experience for us.

He tailors his schedule and narrative to suit any family.  There’s no canned spiel on any part of Israel’s terrain, history, antiquities, or modern situation.  Howie’s sense of humor enlivens his explanations, and his anecdotes on many of the sites visited are fascinating.

In addition, Howie took very good care of us and is respectful of individual physical activity levels.  I truly recommend Howie Bergson and Israel Footsteps.

Our family has taken two recent trips to Israel.  Both times, we used Israeli Footsteps as our tour company.  Our first trip in 2008 was for our son’s Bar Mitzvah.  Most in our group had never been to Israel and those that had been, had not been in many years.  Howie Bergson, our tour guide, provided us with an in depth history of the country during our tour.  From the Bullet Factory, to Caesaria, to the Syrian Border and down to Masada, we learned all about the ancient and modern history of Israel.  Everything was to perfection.  The second time, this past June, we came for our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah.  We were concerned that the trips would be similar, but were we wrong!  This time, we went south to Mitzpe Ramon and saw a completely different part of Israel.  It was unbelievable.  Again, Howie’s guidance was perfection.  We look forward to our next trip very soon!
